Amazing Transylvania - Surprising, Enchanting...

Day 1:  Welcome in Sibiu
Arrival inSibiu
Transfer / check-in (Gura Raului/ Orlat)
Welcome dinner

DAY 2 – Daily life: people & stories

We’ll start our tour with a relaxing trip in the area of R??inari – it’s the perfect occasion to enjoy the fascinating view and meet special settlers: simple, kind people who will reveal us captivating stories about their lives.

 

 

In the afternoon we’ll have a horse-drawn wagon drive in the village, learn about people’s daily activities: gardening, animal breeding.

 

In the evening, when the herd comes home, we’ll have more work to do; we’ll learn to milk the cows.

DAY 3: Life at the sheepfold


Trekking tour at the sheepfold: today we’ll climb up in the mountains; the challenging route finally deserves all the effort! Up there on the edge of the mountains we’ll enjoy the peacefulness of the nature and learn more about what life here really means.
Dinner at the sheepfold: we shall taste special dishes and products prepared by the shepherds: cheese, polenta, lamb steak and so many others.
Overnight at the sheepfold (camp-fire, life-stories and a bit of schnapps or wine)
As an alternative: coming back in the village – visiting a traditional craftsman
Dinner at the guest-house

DAY 4: Beliefs and traditions


We start our day with a visit in Sibiel (The Icon Glass Museum). We continue then with a visit in S?li?te (visiting a hat maker) Tili?ca (hiking tour till the old Dacian fortress and the story of the general Tiliscus) Poiana Sibiului – Jina.
Visit in Cristian(the fortified church and the story of the Landlers/ the stork little farm).
In the after-noon we’ll learn the icon glass handcraft – may the best artisan win the prize.

Day 5:  Saxons


The history of the Saxons in Transylvania is full of adventures; who were these colonists and how did they influence life in Tansylvanira? We’ll learn more about this by visiting their settlements…
We’ll visit the Old Mill from Hosman and the mysterious fortified church here; in Richi? we’ll meetMr. Schass – the last Saxon in the area; he’ll divulge us the mystery of the Green Manand the story of the vineyards in Richi?.
Our last destination of the day is Biertan; we’ll visit the fascinating UNESCO heritage church.

 

Day 6:  Royal Families


Today we’ll linger a bit more in the area and visit a bee-keeper. We’ll learn about the beehives and taste all types of honey; a delicacy!
In M?lâncrav we’ll visit the castle of the famous Hungarian general – Apafi, the fortified church, the orchards and the factory that produces the most famous natural apple juice in Romania. Our visit in M?lâncrav shall be a very special one because we’ll learn more details about what really fascinated and attracted Prince Charles of Great Britain in these areas.
Have fun while learning how to ride a horse, in Danes.

Day 7:  Back to Sibiu


Today is a nice, relaxing day. We’ll have a walking tour in the historic area of Sibiu and then we’ll enjoy a visit to the most important Open Air Museum in Romania.
The last evening in Sibiu – dinner party!

Day 8 :  Goodbye!
