A little about Transylvania

Transylvania is a geographical sunken area located in the center of Romania and surrounded by the Carpathian Mountains. Nevertheless, for many people, Transylvania is more than just a geographical area: it is the land of endless stories, the land where sometimes your imagination transcends the reality.

Saxon Settlements

"Pearls of Transylvania", this is how were called the Saxon settlements in South Transylvania, villages built hundreds of years ago by the Saxon colonists. Their villages were always attacked by the enemies, thus the colonists strengthened their churches, they built citadels around them. Today, these settlements, even though most of them abandoned by the Saxons, still preserve the ancient architectural aspect.

The region of Mărginimea Sibiului
